The New Environmentalist “Sprint” team was proud to take part in this year’s London Duathlon, in the Challenge Relay category. The London event is the world’s largest duathlon held annually in Richmond Park, south-west London, with thousands of participants. The event combines running with cycling and the challenge distance was: 10km run : 22km cycle : 5km run. Ion started the Relay with a challenging long run, Ciprian then took over with two fast laps around Richmond Park (in the rain) and Siobhan crossed the finishing line with a blistering sprint to the line. The result was a well deserved 7th place (out of more than 80 teams competing), with an overall time of 1 hour and 52 min.

Siobhan and Ion take on the Surrey hills in the Wiggle Super Series Ups and Downs Sportive (Road) – 68miles around Dorking. It was a great day for cycling, with sunshine throughout, great atmosphere and good support from the organisers. Which was exactly what was needed to complete a challenging course with plenty of hard climbs and fast downhills. Please visit the organiser’s site for videos and we hope you can join us for future events, below:

Despite the rain and cold weather our team had one of our best results to date, finishing ahead of the competition as best team in The Fix UK Run Richmond first 5K run of the year. Special thanks to all our runners that braved the weather, to Anca on her first run and to Siobhan, Ciprian and Ion on achieving personal bests. For full results, please follow this link:
